Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed for the State Support of the Shipbuilding Industry

 

During the conversation with the journalists in Mykolaiv after acquainting with the work of SOE "61 Communard Shipbuilding Plant" V. Lytvyn declared that "Ukraine in the person of its authorities is supposed to give answers on the question: whether state needs shipbuilding industry or not?"

 

"The answer is obvious of course it needs, - the leader of the Parliament proclaimed. We are supposed to build and equip ships." "One should do everything possible to preserve this sphere as one of the most essential. Until there are still people patriots of their work, first class specialists, everything possible should be done", - he declared.

 

V. Lytvyn also deems it necessary to form subdivision within the Ministry on Industrial Policy that would be responsible for the problems of shipbuilding sphere. Then, according to his words, there are 25 enterprises in Ukraine that belong to this sphere and "unfortunately, only two of them belong in the state property."

 

 He expressed for the elaboration of such tender conditions on the building of corvette ships that would facilitate the obtaining of the relevant works by the state structures.

 

Concerning problems of SOE "61 Communard Shipbuilding Plant", the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed for the necessity of solution of the decision on allotment of UAH 48 billion for the completion of the building of the ship for the Greece order as according to his words "it would give impulse to renew work of the plant."

 

Regarding the issue on completion of the building of "Ukraine" cruiser, V. Lytvyn declared that all the necessary efforts should be made to complete the construction and sell the ship to the countries "able to purchase it Russia, India or China."

 Moreover, V. Lytvyn informed that it is extremely important to listen to the plant authorities that suggest selling equipment and leave only those that are necessary to preserve the efficient working of the shipbuilding sphere.

 

V. Lytvyn also emphasized the necessity of the implementation of the Law on support of shipbuilding industry in the full scope.

 

As it was informed previously on Thursday-Wednesday, V. Lytvyn would be staying with the working visits in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
